Angel Valchinov
Mr. Valchinov is at the forefront of the violin world. Conductors he has
performed with have commented: "His Beethoven Concerto is stellar: performed in
the only way it should be played"; "His Dvorak Concerto is incredibly beautiful,
one of a kind". America recognized him by giving him a Green Card, based solely
on his artistic ability and promise. He performs with orchestras in the US and
Europe, serves as a concertmaster of several orchestras in the Boston area, and
has an active private teaching studio. His travels have taken him to many
European countries, as well as US cities. Bulgarian National TV has made a
documentary about him, and he has also been featured on a number of television
stations across the US. Mr. Valchinov has also performed for Governor Patrick
(MA) and Mayor Thomas Menino (Boston). His teachers include Aaron Rosand, Naoko
Tanaka (The Juilliard School), Sergiu Schwartz (adjudicator at major
international violin competitions), and Yuri Mazurkevitch (long-time pupil of
David Oistrakh). In May of 2008, Mr. Valchinov performed all six of H. W.
Ernst’s Polyphonic Etudes, a rare feat. In March of 2009 he performed the Dvorak
Concerto at Jordan Hall in Boston, with the
Boston Civic Symphony. Angel Valchinov plays on a J. B. Vuillaume violin of
1863, on a loan from Mr. Max Hobart.
