Claflin Hill Celebrates Independence Day with Two Great Concerts!!

Quite an arm full!

Paul Surapine (Milford's own Keith Lockhart) gets a lift from The Great Benafuchi!

Don't miss Claflin Hill's 2007 Independence Day Spectacular!

The Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra celebrates our nation's Independence Day with two stellar concert events on July 4th and July 7th, featuring The Claflin Hill Symphony Summer Winds, joined by members of the Charles River Chorale and the New World Chorale.

Claflin Hill's Independence Day Spectacular Concert . .

Claflin Hill presents the annual Milford National Bank & Trust Company's Independence Day Spectacular Concert, at Plains Park, Route 85, Cedar Street in Milford, with events beginning at 5PM on Wednesday, July 4th at the same time.

The Independence Day Spectacular Concert is Claflin Hill's own version of The Boston Esplanade show, featuring numerous entertainments from 5 PM on, leading into the Fireworks Display at 10 PM. The entire day of world-class entertainment is made possible with a major Claflin Hill Business Partner Grant from the Milford National Bank & Trust Company.

Under the direction of Claflin Hill's Artistic Director, Paul Surapine, The Claflin Hill Summer Winds will perform an "All-American Patriotic Pops" program, including music of Aaron Copland, Glenn Miller, John Phillip Sousa, music from "Les Miserables," "Saving Private Ryan" and numerous other Fourth of July patriotic favorites.  The concert features Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" leading into the fireworks display and the Claflin Hill Summer Winds and chorales will accompany the fireworks with live music.

Concessions will be available at Plains Park, made possible by local non-profit groups selling park concert menu fares and ice cream, and residents are also encouraged to arrive early and make it a "family picnic" event   Bug spray is also highly recommended in view of the recent wet weather!

Claflin Hill also produces Milford's ongoing summer park concert series, Family Night at the Bandstand, in Milford Town Park every Tuesday evening throughout the summer.

Visit the Claflin Hill website at www.claflinhill.org for all information about Claflin Hill summer concert events and directions to all concert venues, or call Claflin Hill at 508-478-5924.

On Saturday, July 7th, Claflin Hill will visit the Daniels Farmstead in Blackstone for a first time concert appearance, sponsored by American National Power and Dean Bank.  This concert begins at 7:30 PM and is free and open to the public.  For this concert, the Claflin Hill Summer Winds will perform an "All-American Patriotic Pops" program, including music of Aaron Copland, Glenn Miller, John Phillip Sousa, music from "Les Miserables," "Saving Private Ryan" and numerous other Fourth of July patriotic favorites.  The Daniels Farmstead is a National Historic Registry site, located at 286 Mendon Street in Blackstone.
