Our 10th Anniversary Season kicks off November 7th with Pillars of Fifths.  The program include 2 monumental works of classical literature-- Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5.  (5 + 5 = 10!)

Our popular Holiday Pops concert takes place on December 12th.  New World Chorale join the CHSO to add their sparkling voices to the traditional and contemporary holiday favorties.

Since this is our Tenth Anniversary Year, we're revisiting some of the highlights from the past decade.  And we're also bringing new faces to Claflin Hill.  We have a new concertmaster, Angel Valchinov, replacing longtime concertmaster Nikola Takov.  (Nikola has been hired by The Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra.  Pamplona is home to Navarra's symphonic orchestra, one of the oldest orchestras still active in Spain.  We're very proud of his talent and this exciting opportunity.)

We also look for to hosting Mezzo soprano Melanie Campbell, a young vocalist introduced to us by our good friend Ron Della Chiesa.  This concert is titled Songs of America and will feature American Spirituals, selections by Duke Ellington, Gershwin, and an original work by our very own Tom Hojnacki.

By popular demand, we've added a chamber orchestra concert to this year's symphony schedule.  This will be a benefit concert and therefore it is not included with the season tickets.  The performance takes place on Feb. 13th and it would be an excellent way to celebrate Valentine's Day.
