German composer Felix Mendelssohn’s Third Symphony, inspired by his frequent holiday trips to Scotland, paired with Edward Elgar’s elegant and profound “Enigma Variations” evoke a vast musical color palate of all things “Britannic”

The Twelfth Season comes to a glorious climax as the New World Chorale joins forces with the CHSO in two magnificent paeans – Vivaldi’s beautiful “Gloria” and English composer William Walton’s colorful and spectacular “Belshazzar’s Feast” an orchestral/chorale tone poem depicting the Israelites flight from ancient Babylon.  An absolute, not to be missed evening of monumental sound.

The CHSO’s Twelfth Season gets underway with the stage “awash” in sounds from the sea, featuring Benjamin Britten’s “Four Sea Interludes” from his opera, “Peter Grimes” and Claude Debussy’s magnificent “La Mer.”  Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra's principal flutist Phyllis Aronson to perform Jacques Ibert Flute Concerto.
