Guitarist David McLellan joins the orchestra for a performance of the Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Concerto in D. A truly multi-cultural feast of music delights!

The CHSO visits Eastern Europe to celebrate the musical heritage of many of our long-time musicians who made the passage from their motherlands to seek the “American Dream” with us! Bulgarian Dance Movements by Stainov, evocative, exhilarating and powerful Rhapsodies by Enesco and Liszt and the virtuosic Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto – featuring CHSO Principal Trumpet, Erich Ledebuhr – who has led the CHSO Brass section to distinction since the very first concert – will create a musical soundscape that evokes the pathos, struggle, triumph and joy of life with an Eastern European flavor!

Come celebrate winter’s magic with the CHSO and Greater Milford Community Chorus where The Grand Ballroom is transformed into a winter wonderland! The warm sounds of the holidays will fill the hall with festive seasonal favorites, including a holiday sing-along and a visit from jolly ol’ St. Nick! Let’s ring in the Holidays together with The Greater Milford Community Chorus, under the direction of Mark Schiappucci, joining CHSO for their sixth year!

The CHSO Twenty-Fourth season gets underway with a program of “reprise” favorites from the first decade of Claflin Hill – an “a la carte menu” of masterpieces that will hypnotize and entrance, inspire and exalt every sense of our beings! The steady and mantra-like crescendos of Bach and Ravel – sultry, sensuous and languorous idylls of Wagner and Debussy, culminating in the brooding but ultimate majesty of the sea – which has fascinated the human spirit from the beginning of time itself. A fitting start to the next quarter century of CHSO!
