Autumn Walk with Brahms
The Claflin Hill Apple Tree Arts Chamber Series launches into another season on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at the beautiful Apple Tree Arts Great Hall at One Grafton Common with a sterling and "autumnal" program that is just perfect for the Fall Season and as an "dessert accompaniment" to the CHSO Symphony Opener the previous week! (which features Brahms Second Symphony!)
An entire program devoted to the heart-warming, noble and valedictory music of Johannes Brahms — the master of German Romanticism!
Two of the Claflin Hill Symphony's most accomplished and veteran members — long-time CHSO Concertmaster and Violinist Angel Valchinov and Cellist Eleanor Blake — part of the Original Cello Section of the CHSO — join their virtuoso talents and musicianship together with Pianist Roxana Frizzi to bring to life two of Brahms masterworks from his younger, impetus days!

Faculty Showcase: A Musical Surprise
One of the most memorable—and delightfully unpredictable—events of the CHSO ATA season!
For this special evening, CHSO and ATA faculty musicians bring their favorite musical “entrées” to the table. Think of it as a musical flash mob meets a surprise concert: we never quite know what will end up on the program until the evening unfolds!
What we do know is that this program is always energetic, engaging, and filled with musical surprises. Our talented faculty musicians step out of their usual roles to share the music they love, creating an evening that feels spontaneous, intimate, and completely unique.
And there may even be a surprise guest—or two! You never know when a “pop-up” musician from the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra might join us for the evening.
We’re already wondering what will be on the musical “menu” next January. Whatever it is, you won’t want to miss it!
Spring Serenity & Sunshine
As winter finally loosens its grip and the first hints of spring begin to appear, join us for an afternoon of beautiful chamber music, warm conversation, and the simple joy of making music together.
This early-April concert brings CHSO musicians together in smaller ensembles, offering an intimate musical experience where every instrument—and every musician—has a chance to shine. From lively, spirited selections to moments of quiet beauty, the program will celebrate the freshness and optimism of the season.
Think of it as springtime in musical form: vibrant, welcoming, and filled with the promise of brighter days ahead.

Apple Tree Arts Faculty Showcase
Always one of our most memorable evenings of the CHSO ATA season! A chance for CHSO and ATA faculty musicians to bring their favorite entrees, it’s almost like a “flash-mob” concert – we never know what we’ll come up for on the “menu” that evening, but it’s ALWAYS one of the most interesting and energetic programs of the series!! We can’t wait to figure out what we’ll play next January, but we guarantee it not to be missed! You never know – we might even have a “Pop-Up” musician join us for the evening from CHSO!!
Love Songs ~ Through the Season
Sierra Lary, Soprano – the captivating soprano Diva of CHSO’s Carmina Burana Season Finale returns to collaborate with Claflin Hill for our Chamber Series Opener featuring a spectacular evening of vocal virtuosity in expression of “seasonal Love Songs!” French and German romance music of Bizet, Massenet, Schumann, mixed in with Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lerner and Loewe and more!
Sierra is joined by her longtime friend and musical collaborator David Owens on piano and CHSO Maestro Paul Surapine joins them on Clarinet for a rollicking romp through Schubert’s iconic Shepherd on the Rock!

Our January concert traditionally features the stellar Apple Tree Arts Faculty and CHSO members performing a varied “cornucopia” of music – ala “Pop Up Chef Kitchen!” You never know what you might find on the menu, but it’s sure to be adventurous, inspiring and a whole new, flavorable experience! Paul Surapine: Family & Friends – “A Chamber Music Cabaret!!”
The Claflin Hill Chamber Series launches another season by presenting CHSO Founder Paul Surapine, joined by family & friends in a virtuoso and entertaining program of classic French clarinet “tour da forces” paired with “salon style” offerings of Italian & English artsongs, Broadway, “Gypsy” and more!! A refreshing “take” on the concept of chamber music presentation – music by, for and amongst friends in an intimate setting!!
