The magnificent New World Chorale returns to join forces with CHSO for a monumental, transcendent program of spiritual and celebratory masterpieces! The afternoon opens with the brilliant fanfare of Handel’s Royal Fireworks Music, originally commissioned by England’s King George, II. Next, experience the profound power of Bach’s towering cantata, “Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott,” a definitive work from his historic residency in Leipzig.
For the grand finale, guest soloists and the combined forces of chorus and orchestra bring you Igor Stravinsky’s inspired Symphony of Psalms. Written to honor the 50th anniversary of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, this deeply moving work serves as the ultimate crown on a season of unmatched symphonic glory.

This spectacular finale pays tribute to our nation’s vibrant jazz heritage while shining a proud spotlight right here on our home of Milford, Massachusetts.
We are thrilled to welcome home locally born jazz saxophone sensation Mark Zaleski—a beloved favorite of our Sorrento Jazz Series--partnering with the fantastic Milford Home Grown Jazz Trio. Together with the full power of CHSO, they will bring to life Duke and Mercer Ellington’s masterful Three Black Kings, Leonard Bernstein’s gripping cinematic On the Waterfront, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Join us for an unforgettable, high-energy homecoming.

Wind & Thunder unleashes the raw power behind the CHSO sound, spotlighting our blazing wind and percussion sections in full force.
